The Heart Behind Peace & Balance
Some spaces aren't built — they're remembered.
This is one of them. From the moment you arrive, something in you recognizes it. The pace slows. The noise quiets. The part of you that has been holding everything begins, finally, to rest.
This is what Peace & Balance was built to be, a sanctuary where the experience of being cared for and the science of Ayurvedic healing are one and the same.
Ancient medicine.
Modern lives.
Real results.
Our Vision
We believe the body is wise. The mind is deeper than most people have been shown. And the path to wellbeing isn't found in the latest trend — it's found in ancient systems that have understood the whole human being for thousands of years.
At Peace & Balance we work at the intersection of physical health, mental wellness, and human consciousness.
Who We Are
Denise – Co-Founder | Ayurvedic Practitioner | Balance Guide
Denise didn't find Ayurveda because she was looking for a career. She found it because she was running out of options.
After three decades building a successful life by every conventional measure — corporate leadership, mainstream wellness, labs that looked perfect on paper — her body was telling a completely different story. Chronic exhaustion. Food sensitivities. A medical system that offered medications but not answers.
The question that changed everything: "If I'm doing everything right, why doesn't it feel that way?"
The search that began inward led her to Ayurveda — a 5,000-year-old system that already mapped everything she had been discovering through trial and error. It gave her language for what her body had been trying to say. It gave her back her health. And eventually it gave her a completely different self.
Today Denise's practice sits at the intersection of Ayurveda, Kundalini yoga, and the complete human experience — body, mind, and the consciousness that animates both — not as separate disciplines but as one complete map of the human being. She works with the body, the nervous system, daily rhythms, and the consciousness underneath all of it. She is interested in helping people understand their own system — so they can navigate it for themselves.
Her journey led her to co-found Sattvic Space, a nonprofit wellness center in Hampton Roads, and eventually to Peace & Balance — where the personal and purpose finally became one.
Sarah – Co-Founder | Yoga Educator | Peace Guide
Sarah's path is rooted in the eight limbs of yoga — not as a physical practice but as a complete philosophy for living. For Sarah, yoga has never been about the body alone. It has always been about the spirit that moves through it.
She is the creator of the PEACE Paradigm — a framework for conscious living built around five core tenets: Present, Easeful, Aware, Connected, Experience. It is not a program so much as a way of being — a series of practices and principles that help people redefine stress, align with joy, and move through their lives with calm, clarity, and purpose.
At Peace & Balance, Sarah brings this philosophy into every session and gathering she holds. Her work is gentle, grounded, and quietly powerful — helping people slow down enough to remember that peace isn't something you find. It's something you return to.
Alfred– Practitioner | Artist | Warrior Guide
Alfred Alejandro is a combat Marine veteran, martial artist, Kundalini yoga and meditation teacher, and artist. He brings something to the healing space that is rare — the credibility of someone who has lived what he teaches.
His path has not been without struggle. As a veteran navigating the real and ongoing challenges of combat's aftermath, Alfred doesn't offer a story of arrival. He offers something more honest and more useful — the tools he uses every day, to stay grounded, to keep moving, to remain present in a life that has asked a great deal of him.
Through movement, breath, meditation, and the energetic technology of Kundalini yoga, Alfred works with veterans, first responders, and anyone who has carried something heavy and is ready to put some of it down — without pretending the weight was never real.
His art — murals, painting, illustration — carries the same intention. Evidence that strength and healing are not opposites. That something beautiful can come from what was hard.
Alfred teaches at Peace & Balance and brings his work into the communities that need it most.
We believe the rhythm of nature is the rhythm of healing. True transformation follows timing, not pressure.
We believe you don't need to be fixed. You need to be seen, supported, and met with care.
We believe healing isn't one size fits all. Your path is your own — and it's worth honoring.
